Questions

Questions about termites, contracts and visits

How do I know if I have termites?

Wings on a sill, mud tubes on a pier or a slab edge, or wood that sounds hollow are the usual signs. Only an inspection can say. Text us a photo if you want a first opinion.

How often should an old house be inspected?

Once a year is common, and winter is a good time, before the swarms. Your inspector may suggest more or less.

Is a termite bond the same as insurance?

No. It is a service contract, and the terms, limits and exclusions decide what it does.

Does a termite report guarantee anything?

No. It describes what the inspector could see on the day.

Do I have to leave the house for treatment?

That depends on the method. We tell you before the visit what to move, where to keep children and pets away, and when you can come back. We follow the product label.

How long until I know it worked?

Termite work is checked over time. Most plans include a follow-up inspection, and the contract says when.

What is the difference between Formosan and native termites?

Formosan colonies are larger and can live above the ground where wood stays wet. Native colonies are smaller and stay near the soil. Both need an inspection, and the plan may differ.

Do you work on houses in a historic district?

Yes. Tell us before we plan, because some exterior work needs approval.

Where do you work, and when can you come?

We work in Orleans, Jefferson and St. Bernard parishes. We tell you when we can come when you book, and the inspector's arrival window when the visit is set.
